Let me take this opportunity to thank pastor Michael Simpson for calling on me when he spear headed ministry outreach by radio in the earlier days on Princess Street, Moss Side, Manchester. Then Pastor Simoson invited me to join Radio Diamond Studio to conduct a month ministry outreach by radio. It was at Radio Diamond after the month was completed i was moved by the living spirit of god to ask the then station manager uncle ness if he had any free slot going for a radio presenter?. His response I will never forget as long has i live. He replied by saying funny enough yes i have a slot and I have been watching you for a whole month while were here. Your mannerisms and conduct would be ideal for this position. However he went further to add its not all up to me to give the final permission. Then comes uncle Dexter the sole owner of the station after speaking to uncle ness he pointed out that uncle Dexter had the final say. Well uncle Dexter made me feel more then welcome and made it clear on the guidelines and rules of which he would like to see operated. Well the rest you will hear through the DJs and presenters I worked with.
I lived and worked in Manchester for 16 years it was time to move again. Here comes the great question where would I move to for the next great adventure? Well many would not know this but my mother came from Scotland, Glasgow. I had visited Scotland on a few occasions. I was moved by its beauty and natural surroundings. I wanted to embrace and learn about the other side of my great Scottish history. Okay, so they took part in both human slavery and marketing of untold misery. My hands are clean so let me continue with my journey to Scotland. I landed on its shores by national coach from Manchester, 7 hours and a few mins. On the 28th of December 2019, I had a full night view of the ancient, now modernised city of Edinburgh.
I spent a few weeks in the capital city then moved to Corstorphine where i stayed for three months throughout this time my passion for radio and presenting got a hold of me. So throughout that short stay i had spent time in looking for radio stations who would welcome my years of experience and a willingness to share and grow.
I had a few openings but it was not the kind of environment i wanted to settle. So I continue to search until I came across a station of which I will not mention its name here because of legal reasons. What was so ideal about this station was its location in Haddington. While staying in Corstorphine area I had applied for a private rented apartment in Haddington, where I was offered an apartment on the high street. This radio station offered me a position has a radio presenter on the terms would show devotion and willingness to get involved in community affairs so the image of the station would be seen has active and giving advice and support where needed. Well here comes faith .. I had my start date did a few sit in shows with a few of their amazing presenters there and all gave their approval.
Covid-19 started its ministry so i was informed I could not do my show and was not allowed to visit the station due to the guidelines put in place only two persons allowed within a given space.
So the time came for the restrictions to be balanced where i could start at the radio station. I sent a email and text to the appropriate persons indicating i was still interested but no response came back.
So I settled with the thought that after the challenges of Covid-19 I would be well on my way into the presenters chair getting on with task given. I was still working as a security officer, so I was still active and traveling back and forth from a town called Portobello.
After a time in prayer and a few communications with few trusted friends Kiss Mi Neck Radio was born. kissmineck radio aims to promote the gospel of Jesus Christ to the far corners of Haddington and Scotland. Giving support encouragement upliftment looking at areas of human holistic development. At present the radio station is at its infant stage. Looking at areas where we can get individuals involved i.e. presenting information live interviews, research music and such a like.
Our aims and objectives is to be pro active in social issues and concerns supporting and wisely advising where possible and safe for all. Presently we are growing slowly in listeners and we would like to take this time to thank you for your prayers, ideas and support, which can not go unnoticed. Once again thank you for your priceless time in tuning in to kissmineckradio.co.uk or radio.co , its growing and so are we together.
Kind regards CEO Headley Stuart Dennis.
